*All Newton Music School will host two faculty concerts this weekend, April 28th and 30th. On Friday at 6:30 pm, listen to a one-hour concert of teachers performing chamber music. On Sunday at 2:00 pm, attend Borrowed Melodies performed by Alex Thomas, an afternoon of piano music not written for the piano. More info for All Newton Music is here.

*The Scandinavian Cultural Center brings Ann Bausman back Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 am, for a workshop on paper stitching. Embellish old black and white and colored photographs, postcards, and prints with embroidery to create one-of-a-kind cards, collages, and keepsakes. Register here for Ann’s one-of-a-kind class, and that’s no embellishment.

*The Suzuki School of Newton hosts its annual group piano concert, Pianos Galore on Saturday, April 29th at 2:15 pm at the Newton Presbyterian Church. Then in the evening, its popular Scholarship Benefit Concert begins at 6:00 pm. The event features a reception and a variety of musical selections of diverse genres. Get your tickets to benefit the James Thornblade Memorial scholarship fund.

*Newton Open Studios‘ annual 2-day event for artists and makers is back this weekend on Saturday – Sunday, April 29-30th from 11-5 pm. Featuring booths in their backyards, porches, garages, and private homes you will find artists selling work from every medium. Visit the NOS website to plan your route.

*The Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra returns to The Allen Center on Sunday, April 30th at 3:00 pm with Salon 3.  This colorful, exciting program is perfect for a spring day. Get your tickets for this windy spring performance here.
