*Every week a different Newton restaurant is popping up at The Allen Center’s gorgeous patio, bringing new tastes, cuisines, and cultures to West Newton. Lunch-Time Pop-Ups at The Allen Center offers a feast that focuses on organizations that embrace the importance of sustainability at this local pop-up market on Thursday, July 13th from 11:30-2:30 pm. Pre-order a delicious meal and feel good about the impact our local businesses are making on the environment. The climate-conscious participants include Judith’s Kitchen, a market and cafe that has embraced “recirclables” to cut down on take-out packaging. Fulfilled Goods, a new low-waste “refillery” with sustainable products. Hustlestop, hair, skin + nail services with environmentally friendly practices and self-care products. A Taste of France employs reusable baskets in their doorstep pastry drop-offs. Derby Farm Flowers, a florist, gift shop, and a 1% FOR THE PLANET BUSINESS—donating 1% of its annual sales to environmental causes. Pre-order your Allen Center Lunch by 3:30 pm today.

* The Hyde Community Center hosts Summer In the Highlands, an outdoor summer family concert and movie series on Friday nights. Summer in the Highlands features local bands and family-friendly films. These free events held in the Hyde Playground on the Hyde Community Center bandstand showcase a myriad of NCA Member Organizations and draw hundreds of local families. Next up on the schedule is a concert by Mystique followed by the movie at dusk, “Air Bud.” Check out the online schedule for full information on weather updates.

*Newton Community Pride will host the July Charity Pour at Baramor kicking off on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Support Newton Community Pride and the Linda Plaut Newton Festival of the Arts at Baramor all month long.
