Newton Cultural Alliance is keeping you connected with your favorite local arts and culture organizations.

*All Newton Music School presents Up Close & Musical, a faculty concert on Friday, December 2nd at 6:30 pm. Listening to teachers perform chamber music together enhances the music lesson experience. These concerts are free, one hour in length, and presented in a relaxed setting.

*Holiday Shopping with heart at The First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 3, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm. Stalls and tables spill forth with treasures new and old.

*Join Highland Glee Club on Saturday, December 3rd at 3:00 pm for A Holiday Songfest. The men of the Highland Glee Club led by Sarah Robinson Seeberusher bring in the holidays with songs for Christmas and Chanukah in a variety of styles. Get your tickets in advance for this event and reception.

*The New Art Center lights up the winter with the Festival of Lights on Sunday, December 4, 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Art educators will lead participants through different make-and-take activities that highlight the themes, rituals, and traditions of Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Las Posadas. *The Newton Cultural Alliance hosts three amazing events this weekend. The Cherry Street Players series, Classical With a Twist presents Viva Maestra on Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 pm at The Allen Center. Enjoy musical performances composed or inspired by women and refreshments with the musicians at this festive and intimate event. The annual Celebrate Newton Holiday Craft Fair happens on Sunday, December 4th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Newton South High School. With live music and fifty local vendors, this annual favorite craft fair has the latest trends in handmade jewelry, textiles, woodworking, fine art, and wellness products. Don’t miss your one-day shopportunity to purchase these unique items! The Newton Art Association hosts their Fall Exhibition at The Allen Center. Mingle with the artists at an opening reception on Sunday, December 4th from 1:00-3:00 pm. Juror Andrew Witkin, co-owner of the Krakow Witkin Gallery on Newbury Street, will be awarded prizes.
