NCA is keeping you connected with each other and with your favorite local arts and culture organizations. 

 

*Join Pro Arte for their next Fall Salon Series on Thursday, November 5th at 8:00 PM. This series takes place entirely online and each performance will also be followed by a live Q&A session with that night’s musicians. This week the program will feature works by Beethoven. Tickets for each performance are $20 for an individual or $35 for families. Click here to purchase tickets.

*Newton Theatre Kids is proud to present their Fall Workshop Series! Beginning on Saturday, November 7th and continuing through December, these one-time-only virtual workshops are the perfect opportunity for the young performers in your life to experiment with new types of theatre, connect with peers, and flex their creative muscles. With topics ranging from Shakespeare to Musical Theatre to 10 Minute Plays and classes available for students in grades 2-12, this workshop series will provide a variety of outlets to engage your children! *Historic Newton is excited to announce that their annual Homestead Hayfest, a family-friendly day of 19th century activities and crafts is online this year! Beginning on Monday, November 9th, visit their web page anytime through November 30 for online exhibits about what life was like in Newton in the 1800s with activities you can try at home. Topics include butter churning, a special Hayfest Storytime, weaving with Beth Guertin of A Place to Weave, Native American baskets, 19th century fun and games, and much more. *Check out Newton Free Library’s Virtual Poetry Series. On Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 PM, join the library for poetry readings by James Najarian, DeWitt Henry, and Lawrence Kessenich. An open mike follows with a limit of one poem per person (limited slots are available). Click here to register.

*Join New Art Center for their Online Veteran’s Day Art Program for grades 2-5 on Wednesday, November 11th at 9:00 AM. Spend a morning packed with possibilities, imagination and fun, doing exciting activities with two experienced New Art teachers. Create a beautiful piece of 2D art, and also play cool theater games! This online program will take place using Zoom, with students divided by age into two groups. All you need is your computer, paper, watercolors, and drawing utensils! See website for supply list.
