*The New Art Center shows a Small Works Exhibition, with an opening reception on Thursday, December 5th, from 6 – 8 pm, this is your chance to mingle with some of this year’s artists, listening to the music of the ProArte Chamber Orchestra of Boston Musicians, and finding the perfect holiday gift with personalized Art Gift Wrapping while enjoying wine and appetizers. *The Allen Center hosts In the Key of Now on Friday, December 6th at 7:30 pm. The Allen Center in partnership with the Berklee Voice Department presents a vocal event featuring the Advanced Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Prof. Ned Rosenblatt, and a special cameo appearance by renowned vocalist and Professor Emeritus Donna McElroy. Step into “In the Key of Now”, a live experience that celebrates the power of the present moment through the dynamic energy of jazz. Tickets to be In the Key of Now are here.

*Celebrate Newton is a one-day Craft Fair on Sunday, December 8th from 10 am -4 pm, with live musicians and local artisans. With over 50 vendors to choose from you can buy a unique gift for everyone this season at Newton South High School. For 2024 we have tons of textiles, loads of Fine Art, Jewelry galore, and new vendors you’ve never seen before. Admission is $7 and all proceeds go to the Newton Cultural Alliance, a non-profit advocacy organization operating The Allen Center for Arts and Culture. *Highland Glee Club performs this year’s holiday concert, A Holiday Feast of Song, on Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 pm at Grace Church, 76 Eldredge St Newton, MA. Featuring traditional carols, a world premiere composition for Chanukah by Dan Wulf; Kreisler works from our 2024 HCG music award winner Keila Wakao; Alfred Burt carols with a solo by Connor Vigeant, tenor, and our rousing singalong. All followed by a beautiful reception with complementary goodies for the whole family. Details and tickets for this feast are available here.

*On Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 pm join Newton Theatre Company for Small Talk. NTC welcomes the artists of Broken Box Mime for a special evening of performance and process. In Small Talk, the cast will present several of their favorite non-speaking narratives, skipping across genres and celebrating the limitless possibilities of physical storytelling.
