*The First Church in Chestnut Hill presents Second Annual Messiah Sing and Open House on Thursday, December 5, at 6:00 p.m. at 26 Suffolk Road, Chestnut Hill. Join First Church in Chestnut Hill for its Second Annual Messiah Sing and Open House, featuring the First Church Quartet with Kathryn Rosenbach, piano. Enjoy coffee, cookies, and singing! Holiday open house begins before the concert at 6:00 p.m.; concert starts at 7:00 p.m. FREE and open to the public. Seating is limited. More info at firstchurchchestnuthill.org.

*All Newton Music School presents its Faculty Concert: Up Close & Musical on Friday, December 6, at 6:30 p.m. at their location at 321 Chestnut Street, West Newton. The one-hour, Friday Night Faculty concerts bring together All Newton Music School’s fabulous instructors to perform in small chamber ensembles. *Newton Cultural Alliance with support from The Village Bank presents the 9th Annual Arts Stroll & Shop in West Newton on Saturday, December 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This Saturday, come celebrate local arts, food, and small businesses with the NCA and our local business and community partners! Enjoy a fun-filled day of activities for families, food lovers, and holiday shoppers right here in West Newton. *The Newton Art Association presents Artist Demo: Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio on Sunday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. at 27 Dunstan Street in West Newton. Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio is a very exciting new venue for artists to explore! The studio frequently offers creative workshops at all levels in silkscreen printing, monoprint, etching, transfer printing, artist books, colograph, papier mâché, and textile printing. For this Artist Demo, meet in the lounge area at Shepherd & Maudsleigh for refreshments at 2:00 pm. Tours will be given by Liz Shepherd and Rebekah Lord Gardiner.
