DESCRIPTION:Actors will spend the Semester creating and exploring imaginative characters\, learning choreography\, and proper singing technique with director\, composer\, and playwright Kelvyn Koning; an experienced musical theatre educator. \nBroadway Bound will allow each actor to sing\, dance\, deliver lines\, and be part of a virtual theatrical ensemble which builds presence and self-confidence. \nCreative and engaging instructor Mr. Kelvyn will work with the young actors ideas to compose original music and scenes for each class as they prepare a virtual world premiere production! \nBefore filming\, the student will be provided with a Broadway Bound “Backstage” Box with all the costume pieces and props needed to film their scenes\, songs\, and choreography with flair! \nClick here for registration. \nAges 5-7 years\nSept. 12 to Jan. 16 – Saturdays: 1:00 – 1:45 pm \nAges 8-10 years\nSept. 10 to Jan. 7  – Thursday: 5:00 – 5:45 pm\nSept. 12 to Jan. 16 – Saturday: 1:45 – 2:30 pm

DESCRIPTION:Boston Ballet School’s Classical Ballet Program Virtual Placement Classes  \nVirtual placement classes will take place at various times throughout the 2020/2021 school year.  Pre-registration is required and there is a $30 placement fee. During the class\, students should have access to a barre (a tall\, sturdy chair will work just fine as long as it’s safe and comfortable) and supportive flooring. Please note your placement applies to any Boston Ballet School location. Students attending a summer program at Boston Ballet School will be assessed for a level in the upcoming school year and are not required to attend a separate placement class. \nThe next placement class will be Saturday\, September 26\, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Please register using the link here. DESCRIPTION:Join us for AEM ONLINE classes each weekend! Register for any number of sessions – classes are $25 per session. Registration opens each Monday for the weekend classes! Click here for more information. \nTantalizing Telemann Technicalities with Sarah Cantor \nWe will use the Telemann F Major duet as technical inspiration for this class. The high F’s give us opportunities to work on blowing and thumb position for high notes. The scale passages are perfect for finger coordination. The repeated sequences of 16th notes beg us to make tonguing syllable decisions. The long passages give us a chance to practice breath control. The cadential trills offer a chance to review trill fingerings and incorporate tasteful appoggiatura’s. Since technique should always serve the music and not the other way around\, we will make music playing the duet together.\nYou can download the music and play the duet with Sarah on her music-minus-one video here.
