The majority of members live in Newton\, nearby cities\, and elsewhere in New England. The Newton Art Association was founded in 1949 by the late James King Bonnar and a small group of artists who felt that artists needed the support of each other to share ideas\, techniques\, and opportunities to paint together.”

DESCRIPTION:People facing humanitarian catastrophes in their native countries have sought refuge in the United States throughout history. Join us for a panel discussion with neighbors whose families were forced to leave Austria\, Cambodia\, and Haiti. These individuals will speak about their countries of origin\, their families’ exodus\, and their adjustment to the U.S. This program is co-sponsored by Historic Newton. \nThe panelists will be: \n\nJohn Chrang\nDanielle Georges\nHanni Myers\nClara Silverstein of Historic Newton will moderate\n\nRegistration for this program will end two hours before the start time.
