SUMMARY:Historic Newton presents Walking Tour of West Parish Burying Ground
DESCRIPTION:Established in 1781 as part of Newton’s Second Parish Church\, West Burying Ground is the resting place for some of the city’s earliest residents. Learn about these residents as well as the shifting iconography and material culture of New England’s burying grounds throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Free but you must register in advance and registration will be capped at 40 people. Register here. \nThe tour is part of “West Newton Yesterday\, Today\, and Tomorrow\,” a weekend of events held in collaboration with the Newton Cultural Alliance at the Allen Center for Arts and Culture at the Nathaniel Allen House in West Newton.
