DESCRIPTION:The Hyde Community Center is proud to host its annual summer series featuring concerts\, movies\, theater productions and cultural celebrations. We hope you will join us in enjoying this wide range of family-friendly events at the Hyde Bandstand beginning this month. \nAll listed events are free and take place outside on the Hyde Bandstand and Playground. Unless otherwise noted\, events are Friday evening; concerts begin at 6 PM\, and movies start around dusk. Friday concerts and movies will move into the Hyde Gym in case of rain.

Sabbath Queen is a feature documentary filmed over 21 years\, follows Rabbi Amichai Lau Lavie’s epic journey as the dynastic heir of 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis\, including the Chief Rabbis of Israel. Torn between rejecting and embracing his destiny\, Amichai becomes a drag-queen rebel\, a queer bio-dad\, and the founder of Lab/Shul—an everybody-friendly\, God-optional\, artist-driven\, pop-up experimental congregation.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Pop-Ups at The Allen Center
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd annual summertime pop-up series at West Newton’s Allen Center kicks off on Thursday\, July 24th with a blockbuster—reknown celebrity chef Thiago Silva of SALT Patisserie is catering lunch. Every Thursday through mid-August a different Newton restaurant pops up on the tented patio along with a rotating showcase of Newton’s small businesses. The event runs from 11:30 AM-2 PM\, and all meals must be ordered on-line. (Food will not be for sale at the pop-up.) More details coming soon about each menu\, order cut-off times and participating small businesses. In case of rain\, the pop-up moves indoors.
