DESCRIPTION:A photography contest during COVID-19 \n\n\n\nSubmissions accepted June 1\, 2020 through June 30\, 2020 \nPublic Exhibition Place & Dates: TBD \n\n\n\n\n\nHow do we connect when we are physically distant? While COVID 19 continues to impact lives around the world\, we have the opportunity to document this life-altering event in a very personal way through photography and our stories: how it affects our families\, our work\, our community\, and our daily lives. \nA juried exhibition of 20 photographs selected by an arts community committee will be at a location and time to be determined. At the end of the exhibit the framed prints will be returned to the photographers. All contest entries will be archived with Historic Newton so that residents in the future can learn about life in Newton during the COVID-19 pandemic. \nVisit website for submission guidelines.

DESCRIPTION:New Art Live Online Learning – Weekly online class at designated class times. New Art faculty conduct a real-time class through Zoom video meetings. \nFor students who have taken at least one previous class at New Art Center: Continue to work from home for a month this summer! Pick up 25 lbs. of clay on June 22nd (time TBA)\, and create in your home. There will be weekly check-ins with Julie Fox via Zoom for technical assistance. Drop-off all work for bisque during the week of July 20\, times TBA. Firing: 2\,000 cubic inches of pottery included in class; $.04 per cubic inch for overage according to New Art Center guidelines.
