DESCRIPTION:Music Explorers Summer Camp-in-a-Box is a music and arts summer camp for children from 5 to 9 years old. \nWe have reimagined courses in music\, theater\, movement\, and visual arts to engage with your child through distance learning and enrichment activities. Musical instruments\, art and activity supplies\, and games are all included in your Camp-in-a-Box. \nYounger campers have more guidance and supervision from counselors and educators when exploring music\, theater\, and art. DESCRIPTION:New Art Live Online Learning – Weekly online class at designated class times. New Art faculty conduct a real-time class through Zoom video meetings. \nThis five-week Zoom course helps students develop a photography project from idea to completion. Use the supportive structure of weekly instruction and feedback to develop your own photography project. We will focus on exploration of concept\, the creation curve\, the editing process\, critique\, and presentation. The class will culminate in a slideshow of the student projects.\nStudents should have an understanding of the basics of photography\, their cameras\, and editing software\, as this class is not focused on the technical elements of photography\, but the ideas and concepts of photography. The instructor\, Julie Williams-Krishnan\, is a widely exhibited fine art photographer and teacher\, and the Director of Programs at the Griffin Museum of Photography. Materials: Camera (digital or film\, but you need to be able to share your images electronically)\, photo editing software on your computer\, journal/sketchbook\, a way to print images (at home or via a store/lab). We will learn to finely edit digital images\, using both our own photos as well as found images. Learn to swap backgrounds\, add dynamic text\, manipulate faces\, enhance digital images\, and create a mini planet using your landscape photos. What is the glowing quality that appears in the work of many master painters? How does an artist make this happen? To communicate a feeling of believable light in a painting\, and to make a painting glow\, artists must make certain decisions early in the painting process.
