DESCRIPTION:Newton Community Pride is pleased to announce our 2024 Fall Village Concert Series in Newtonville\, Waban\, and West Newton! The concerts will take place on three Sundays in September: September 8th\, 15th\, and 22nd.\nAll performances are free and accessible to all.\n\n\n\nSunday\, September 8\n5:00 PM – 6:00 PM\nNewtonville\nTrio Courtyard\, 845 Washington Street\nTRIOLOGY\nMixing Jazz and Latin in eclectic arrangements of old and new\, famous and obscure\, hot and cool\,  Triolgy plays a wide variety of material with international influences. Bassist Tal Shalom-Kobi\, drummer Itai Meshorer\, and singer/pianist Reed Cournoyer originate from different continents and each brings their own unique experience to the group. Experience and enjoy straight-ahead swing\, explorations of Latin rhythms\, odd-time signatures on Jazz tunes\, standards\, original compositions\, folk melodies\, and the occasional pop hit.\nRegister here

DESCRIPTION:Commonwealth Chorale seeks singers of all voice types who have strong vocal and sight-reading skills. Auditions will be held by appointment on the evenings August 26 and 27 from 6:00 – 9:00 and September 3 and 10 from 5:30 – 6:45.Auditions are held at our rehearsal location at First Baptist Church\, 848 Beacon Street in Newton Center\, a few minutes’ walk from the Newton Center stop on the “D” Green Line. The duo\, Crowes Pasture\, intimately blends vocal harmonies with a unique instrumental style that is best described as “a banjo-guitar romance.” The soulful folk duo has released two EPs and three full-length albums in just six-years\, and they are presently recording their third full length album. The origin of the group’s name\, Crowes Pasture\, comes from the salt marsh and tidal flats on the north side of Cape Cod. Register here
