SUMMARY:Boston Ballet presents: The Nutcracker
DESCRIPTION:Let your dreams come to life\nTake time for joy with your family and friends at New England’s most beloved holiday tradition. With brave toy soldiers\, dancing snowflakes\, and a tree that grows to the sky\, The Nutcracker conjures the childlike wonder in us all. \nSlip away into the warm drawing room of the Silberhaus family and watch as Clara’s surroundings transform before your eyes. From the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to the iconic snow scene\, this classical ballet set to the beloved music of Tchaikovsky continues to enthrall audiences of all ages. \nThe Nutcracker marks Boston Ballet’s return to the Citizens Bank Opera House\, and the shared magic and excitement of this heartwarming production feels more meaningful than ever as the curtain rises again. Join us in dreaming of sugarplums\, candy canes\, and the bright season ahead. \nAll patrons must present proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative COVID test before entering the venue and must wear a mask inside the theater at all times\, regardless of vaccination status. \nTo purchase tickets and read the full COVID policy\, click here.

SUMMARY:Commonwealth Chorale presents: American Sounds
DESCRIPTION:Live performances are returning and Commonwealth Chorale has a great year planned! Maestro David Carrier has programmed a superb concert season to celebrate his retirement. Be ready to go for a ride with Paul Revere\, pick up a bluegrass banjo\, and then sit back and enjoy Bach and Haydn. \nOur first concert presents nostalgic Americana through the works of Randall Thompson\, Gwyneth Walker and Stephen Paulus.  In March\, we present a unique and uplifting concert with music by Copland and Barnett. The nationally renowned bluegrass band\, Monroe Crossing\, will join us in performing Barnett’s The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass. For our final concert in May\, we return to our classical roots with a performance of Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis (Lord Nelson Mass) and Bach’s Cantata 140 (Wachet auf\, ruft uns die Stimme). This is a season not to be missed. \nPurchase tickets here.

SUMMARY:Newton Nomadic Theater presents: Miss Delta Township
DESCRIPTION:Can your story be a coming-of-age tale when you’ve already reached a certain age? Miss Delta Township answers that question with a story about trying to fit your fantastical dreams into an ordinary life. \nWe got a tip a few weeks ago about the world premiere of a brand new one woman show by Joanne Callum Powers – Miss Delta Township. We hopped in the car for a road trip and went to see one of the final performances before it closed… and we loved it!!  It was smart\, moving\, wildly inventive and uproariously funny. \nNewton Nomadic Theater has paired up with the Newton Cultural Alliance to bring two performances of the show to the wonderfully restored historic Nathaniel Allen House on Fri. Nov 5\, and Sat. Nov 6 – 7:30 PM. \nSeating is limited and there are only two performances so don’t wait to order tickets before they sell out. \nClick here for tickets ($25) \nNOTE: All guests must bring proof of vaccination with them to the performance. \nAs per City of Newton’s current rules\, guests must wear masks while inside the Allen House
