DESCRIPTION:Jewish-American violinist\, Ilana Zaks\, has been described as “fearless\, refreshing and commanding…she has all the requisites of technique\, confidence and sensibility for a major career.” (Boston Music Intelligencer) Ilana graduated from New England Conservatory where she studied with Donald Weilerstein. Since summer of 2013 Ilana has been a member of the Perlman Music Program\, where she studies with the legendary Itzhak Perlman. This evening of short performances is a seriously fun\, perfectly imperfect\, raw and honest release\, teaching us what it means to live fully in the present moment even if it’s scary. \nAbout “always nothing else” by Beth Hyland\, the short play that will be featured during the production: \nMarco Polo is an app that lets you record videos of yourself for your friends\, and Meg and Tom are two friends sending each other videos on Marco Polo during These Difficult Times. always nothing else follows Meg and Tom as they bake/don’t bake\, cope/don’t cope\, drink/definitely drink\, and maybe/maybe don’t realize what they actually really need from each other. \nalways nothing else was originally developed at First Floor Theater.

SUMMARY:All Newton Music School: Broadway Bound Online Class
DESCRIPTION:Actors will spend the Semester creating and exploring imaginative characters\, learning choreography\, and proper singing technique with director\, composer\, and playwright Kelvyn Koning; an experienced musical theatre educator. \nBroadway Bound will allow each actor to sing\, dance\, deliver lines\, and be part of a virtual theatrical ensemble which builds presence and self-confidence. \nCreative and engaging instructor Mr. Kelvyn will work with the young actors ideas to compose original music and scenes for each class as they prepare a virtual world premiere production! \nBefore filming\, the student will be provided with a Broadway Bound “Backstage” Box with all the costume pieces and props needed to film their scenes\, songs\, and choreography with flair! \nClick here for registration. \nAges 5-7 years\nSept. 12 to Jan. 16 – Saturdays: 1:00 – 1:45 pm \nAges 8-10 years\nSept. 10 to Jan. 7  – Thursday: 5:00 – 5:45 pm\nSept. 12 to Jan. 16 – Saturday: 1:45 – 2:30 pm
