Students will investigate intuitive mark-making as the base for an abstract painting\, and explore ways that color heightens the work. SUMMARY:New Art Center: Textured Glass Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create a low relief tile out of ceramic fiber (a soft material easily cut or torn) on top of which 3 layers of glass (8” x 11”) will be kiln fired at 1500 degrees. The glass sheets will become one solid piece with the imprint of your relief. You will have the option to add bright transparent colors to your project using colored pieces of thin fusible glass. Your fired artwork with display frame will be available for pickup a few weeks after class. Students must wear closed toe shoes\, and safety glasses or eyeglasses. Other materials provided.
