Ramble through East Parish Burying Ground as we visit the grave sites of some of Newton’s early English settlers and the location of the 1630s meetinghouse. The concerts will take place on three Sundays in September: September 8th\, 15th\, and 22nd.\nAll performances are free and accessible to all.\n\n\n\nSunday\, September 8\n5:00 PM – 6:00 PM\nNewtonville\nTrio Courtyard\, 845 Washington Street\nTRIOLOGY\nMixing Jazz and Latin in eclectic arrangements of old and new\, famous and obscure\, hot and cool\,  Triolgy plays a wide variety of material with international influences. Bassist Tal Shalom-Kobi\, drummer Itai Meshorer\, and singer/pianist Reed Cournoyer originate from different continents and each brings their own unique experience to the group. Experience and enjoy straight-ahead swing\, explorations of Latin rhythms\, odd-time signatures on Jazz tunes\, standards\, original compositions\, folk melodies\, and the occasional pop hit.\nRegister here

Attendees can connect with fellow community members while enjoying a musical performance by some of All Newton Music School’s outstanding faculty. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis season’s inaugural event is hosted by board certified music therapist Cheyenne Mize and features husband and wife duo Kim & Ross Petot. Kim is a full-time instructor at the All Newton Music school\, sings with Chorus pro Musica\, works with Memory residents\, and is an active church musician leading 3 handbell choirs. Ross is one of the Boston area’s busiest pianists and is well known to audiences throughout New England. Join us in making a joyful noise!

You’ll see one of Newton’s oldest homes\, hear about student life at Lasell Female Seminary\, and see where the families of missionaries once lived in between assignments abroad. Most tours last approximately 1 hour\, with an easy pace\, and typically cover ½ – 1 mile.

SUMMARY:FUUSN Chime Concert
DESCRIPTION:FUUSN Chime Concert\nSaturday\, August 10\, 5:00 pm \nForged by the McShane foundry in 1916\, the FUUSN chime consists of eleven bells housed in the tower of the First Unitarian Universalist Society’s historic landmark building. The bells range in weight from 575 pounds to 3\,350 pounds\, with a combined weight just shy of seven tons. Musicians play the chime by pushing 11 wooden hand levers\, each connected by cable and pulleys to the clapper of a bell. Listeners will be able to enjoy the music from throughout West Newton Square. The public is welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets — as well as refreshments  — to the church grounds at 1326 Washington Street.
