SUMMARY:Scandinavian Cultural Center presents Kim Cannon Arm
DESCRIPTION:Kim Cannon Arm is a true legend of arcade games. He and his friends from Bip Bip Bar set out to break the world record of his favorite game Gyruss\, which is known as one of the most intense arcade games ever invented. He is planning to play nonstop for 100 hours – that is four days in a row. Kim obviously needs to be in good physical shape before he tries to break the record\, and the game needs to be specifically planned so that Kim can once in a while get a 15-minute break on a mattress in the corner. \nhttps://scandicenter.org/event/screening-cannon-arm-and-the-arcade-quest-denmark/

SUMMARY:The Allen Center presents Isabel Stover Jazz Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 23\n3:00 PM – 4:00 PM\nWest Newton\nAllen Center for the Arts\, 35 Webster Street\nThe Isabel Stover Jazz Quartet will be bringing their impressive talents to West Newton at the Allen Center for the Arts to conclude the Fall Village Concert Series. Isabel Stover is known for amazing audiences with her expansive range and ability to paint a picture with her voice. \nIsabel fell in love with Jazz when she landed a spot in the Oakland Jazz Choir\, a thirty-member ensemble in San Francisco. She began performing regularly with the group at Jazz festivals and wanted to learn as much as she could about the art. She enrolled in classes at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkley and had the opportunity to study under many renowned performers and artists such as Madeline Eastman\, Kitty Margolis\, Sheila Jordan\, and Ledisi. Isabel learned the skills and techniques to become a great singer and performer and now uses her gift to tell stories through her music.

SUMMARY:Memorial Concert for Leslie Parnas
DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends\, \nWe cordially invite you to celebrate and remember our dad\, the world-renowned cellist\, Leslie Parnas. \nPlease join us for an evening of music\, stories and a short video celebrating the life and career of Leslie on September 28 in Boston\, where he lived and taught for 50 years\, or on September 30\, in New York City\, where so many musical connections and life-long friendships were made. \nCicely Parnas\, Leslie’s granddaughter\, will honor the evening by playing Leslie’s cello in a recital deeply connected to his musical legacy. We are thrilled that Cicely will be joined by the celebrated pianist\, Arsentiy Kharitonov. Leslie played his cello every day since 1956\, and now it has been beautifully restored and still resonates with Leslie’s voice and unique sound. \nWe would be honored by your presence at either or both of these events: \n\n\n\nThursday\, September 28\, 2023\, at 7:00 pm\, The Allen Center\, 35 Webster St.\, Newton MA\nSaturday\, September 30\, 2023\, at 4:00 pm\, Rose Studio at CMS (Lincoln Center)\,165 W. 65th St.\, (10th floor)\, New York\, NY\n\n\n\nFamily\, significant others\, friends\, all are welcome! \nGratefully\, \nMarcel and JP Parnas
