DESCRIPTION:Auditions for the Zamir Chorale of Boston’s 2021-22 season will be held Sunday\, Sept. 12\, 2021\, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. \, at Temple Reyim\, 1860 Washington St.\, Auburndale (Newton). \nAuditions are by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance by emailing manager@zamir.org. \nCandidates should have excellent vocal quality\, the ability to sight-read music\, and previous choral experience. In addition to the audition\, candidates are required to attend open rehearsals from 7:15 to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday\, September 14\, and Tuesday\, October 5\, at Temple Reyim. Rehearsals throughout the year are generally held on Tuesdays at Temple Reyim\, from 7:15 to 10:00 p.m.\, from September through early June.

DESCRIPTION:Join Maitreyee Chakraborty and friends for a special concert that will focus on the works of the Bengali poet\, Rabindranath Tagore. He was a writer\, playwright\, composer\, philosopher\, social reformer and painter who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Maitreyee is trained in the classical Indian vocal tradition. \nWhen the world crumbles around us\, death tolls rise and intolerance grows\, Rabindranath Tagore’s words and music offer solace and perspective. \nThis program is supported by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council. \nRegistration for this program will end two hours before the start time.
