SUMMARY:Cappella Clausura ONLINE: Ordo Virtutum from 2/15/20
DESCRIPTION:Cappella Clausura is pleased to share virtually its special performance of Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum from 2/15/20. Immerse yourself in chanted opera: what Director LeClair calls the very first opera\, written around 1150 by Abbess and now St. Hildegard von Bingen\, fully staged for modern audiences with 18 women and men lending gender fluidity to the various ancient roles; with Na’ama Lion\, flute; Nancy Hurrell\, harp; Laura Jeppesen\, vielle; and Mike Williams\, percussion. Enjoy this lovely concert now by clicking here. More info at clausura.org.

SUMMARY:Newton Nomadic Theater: No Exit POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:Something old\, something new – Noni Lewis\, one of our regular actors in recent years (Revolutionists\, Colder Than Here\, Dracula: the Bloody Truth) is in the director’s seat this time out\, with her original take on a famous classic – No Exit. A slightly odd and inscrutable bellhop leads three different guests into the same hotel room.  Their three lives and three stories unfold in disturbing\, surprising\, and at times very funny ways\, because there is ‘no exit.’\nEach week No Exit will move to a different\, interesting\, and unusual performance space.  Like nomads the world over\, Newton Nomadic Theater never settles in any place for long. After just a few performances\, they get restless\, pack up the camels and move on. Tickets are $25. Click here for the full list of dates and venues.

SUMMARY:Zamir Chorale: Fourth Annual Voices of Freedom Concert POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:This extraordinary multicultural event features three choirs: the Zamir Chorale of Boston\, America’s foremost Jewish choral ensemble; VOICES 21C\, a diverse choir dedicated to positive interactions\, social justice\, and global understanding; and the Boston Community Gospel Choir\, which often performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Each group will separately perform songs from the Jewish\, Muslim\, and Christian cultures\, respectively\, and then join together to perform music that transcends the collective cultures. The idea of shared values\, especially in these turbulent times\, rises above our many cultures and connects us. By using music to explore the themes of freedom\, we seek to create a culture of understanding\, faith\, and hope. \nJoin us at 2:15 PM for a guided tour of the Vilna! Learn about the history of the Jews of Boston and the unique architectural features of this particular building. \nPlease note that the doors and building will not open until 2:15 PM to the public. Seating is general admission and on a first come\, first served basis.
