SUMMARY:Newton Nomadic Theater presents: Miss Delta Township
DESCRIPTION:Can your story be a coming-of-age tale when you’ve already reached a certain age? Miss Delta Township answers that question with a story about trying to fit your fantastical dreams into an ordinary life. \nWe got a tip a few weeks ago about the world premiere of a brand new one woman show by Joanne Callum Powers – Miss Delta Township. We hopped in the car for a road trip and went to see one of the final performances before it closed… and we loved it!!  It was smart\, moving\, wildly inventive and uproariously funny. \nNewton Nomadic Theater has paired up with the Newton Cultural Alliance to bring two performances of the show to the wonderfully restored historic Nathaniel Allen House on Fri. Nov 5\, and Sat. Nov 6 – 7:30 PM. \nSeating is limited and there are only two performances so don’t wait to order tickets before they sell out. \nClick here for tickets ($25) \nNOTE: All guests must bring proof of vaccination with them to the performance. \nAs per City of Newton’s current rules\, guests must wear masks while inside the Allen House

SUMMARY:Festival of the Arts: Newton Nomadic Theatre's Story Slam
DESCRIPTION:As part of the 6th Annual Newton Festival of the Arts\, the Newton Nomadic Theatre presents their next Story Slam. \nNNT Story Slams have become legendary in Newton featuring everyone from celebrities\, politicians\, to next door neighbors. They provide the light\, you provide the face and the story.   The idea is simple – a community storytelling night\, based loosely on NPR’s very popular Moth Radio Hour. Come to hear the stories\, or if you’re game\, throw your name in the hat to tell a story. They should be related to the night’s theme.  They should be approximately 5 minutes long\, and have happened to you.  Beyond that\, it’s up to you – funny\, moving\, poignant\, insane\, ridiculous whatever you like.

SUMMARY:Newton Nomadic Theater: Waiting for Godot - COVID-19 Edition SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:Live theatre returns to Newton! On Saturday\, September 12 and Sunday\, September 13 the Newton Nomadic Theater will be presenting four performances of Samuel Becket’s Waiting for Godot – Covid 19 Edition\, featuring some of their favorite actors (Noni Lewis and Linda Goetz) and a Newton Nomadic newcomer (Tommy North) directed by Nicole Galland (Colder Than Here\, The Revolutionists). \nThis unconventional production is an abridged\, Covid-19 aware\, hour-long\, outside version of this well-known theater classic.  You’d be hard pressed to come up with a more suitable play for these very\, very strange times. The production is being presented in a way that exceeds all applicable state and local regulations and guidance on public gatherings during these odd times. The shows will be presented outside on the grounds of Newton’s historic Durant-Kenrick House. The actors will be mic’ed and following all Covid-19 official advisories; in fact that’s part of the show. The audience will be spread safely across the backyard of the Durant-Kenrick House. \nIf you buy multiple tickets for your Covid-19 group\, you will be seated together\, with a wide moat between you and the next guests.  All guests will be required to wear masks when not seated at their assigned seats. \nIt’s been a long time coming and these shows are likely to sell out fast\, so get your tickets today; click here: Waiting For Godot – Covid 19 Edition.

SUMMARY:Newton Nomadic Theater: No Exit POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:Something old\, something new – Noni Lewis\, one of our regular actors in recent years (Revolutionists\, Colder Than Here\, Dracula: the Bloody Truth) is in the director’s seat this time out\, with her original take on a famous classic – No Exit. A slightly odd and inscrutable bellhop leads three different guests into the same hotel room.  Their three lives and three stories unfold in disturbing\, surprising\, and at times very funny ways\, because there is ‘no exit.’\nEach week No Exit will move to a different\, interesting\, and unusual performance space.  Like nomads the world over\, Newton Nomadic Theater never settles in any place for long. After just a few performances\, they get restless\, pack up the camels and move on. Tickets are $25. Click here for the full list of dates and venues.
