A leading expert on Price’s music\, Dr. Walwyn recorded the world premiere of Price’s Concerto in One Movement with the New Black Music Repertory Ensemble at the Center for Black Music Research in 2011. Her April 9\, 2022 release of Price’s complete solo piano works garnered two five-star reviews from Fanfare\, with critics praising her as “perfectly attuned” to the composer’s voice and describing the recording as “a marvelous release.” Dr. Walwyn serves as a Mellon Faculty Fellow and Professor of Music at Berklee College of Music. DESCRIPTION:What better way to celebrate National Farmers Market Week than with a Farmers’ Market on August 7th on the Allen Center patio? At this week’s pop-up the Allen Center welcomes one of the region’s top farms with sustainable growing practices–Farmer Tim’s Vegetables. But that’s just the beginning…One of Newton’s fave farmers’ market vendors–Hungry Ninja–is delivering their “we can’t believe they’re this good bowls” for lunch.  For those with a sweet tooth\, Sweet Dream will be stocked with pastries from North End’s Modern Pastry. (Yes\, Modern Pastry!) There’ll be summery retail shopping with Greentail Table and Fulfilled Goods. Back by popular demand\, Lynne’s Vintique is restocked with local\, organic honey from Peter Hauschka’s Farm (yes\, related to that Hauschka).  And budding lemonade entrepreneur and neighbor Lucy will be selling lemonade.
