*On Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 pm – 3:00 pm, All Newton Music School students are given an opportunity to perform in front of their families, friends, and community members at this annual music festival. For over 30 years, ANMS has held Music in May, an event that brings the ANMS community together to participate in classical music performances, musical theater shows, outdoor rock band concerts, and more. *Suzuki School of Newton performs at Waban Village Day on May 21st at Woodward and Beacon Streets. The day begins with a Family Fun Run at 10:00 am followed by rides and amusements for kids of all ages, vendor tables, music, food, and ice cream. Check out the full schedule with the young musicians from the Suzuki School of Newton starting at 11:00 am.

 

*Historic Newton’s annual Newton House Tour is back in person for its 40th year on Sunday, May 21st from 12:00 – 5:00 pm. Tourgoers are invited to look inside remarkable historic properties not usually open to the public. Each was carefully selected to show historic preservation and creative adaptations. Reserve your space here for the first in-person tour in many years.

*On Sunday, May 21st at 3:00 pm New Philharmonia Orchestra presents May There Be Peace, the third installment of this year’s Classics program. This event includes the music of William Grant Still with Mother and Child for String Orchestra, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto featuring Julianne Lee on violin, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. Don’t miss the final Classic of the season with New Phil.

*Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra teams up with Earl Lee, Assistant Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for Dancing Through The Centuries. Get your tickets for Sunday, May 21st at 3:00 pm fascinating program based on music and movement stretching back six hundred years. This final event in the Ensemble Series will take place at Second Church in Newton so get your seats now.
