*The Newton Cultural Alliance hosts three days of historic activities at the Allen Center with the West Newton Festival Weekend running June 23-25.
The weekend kicks off with the 8th Annual Strawberry Festival on Thursday, June 23rd from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. This fancy hat fundraiser is a fabulous way to support the NCA and its 30 member organizations. Enjoy strawberry-inspired food and seasonal beverages, live music, a hat contest, prize drawings, and more. Purchase your Strawberry Festival Tickets Now!
On Friday, June 24 at 7:30 pm join NCA and special guests for the West Newton History Forum. This community event takes you through the “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” of West Newton history with experts Lynn Cadwallader, Kelsey Merriman Archer, Ted Kuklinski. Hear from an assembly of Historic Newton educators, and the friends of Dolan Pond and Wellington Park. Tickets are a $20 suggested donation at the door.
Finally on Saturday, June 25, the Allen House presents Family Fun Day from 12:00- 5:00 pm. Join the NCA as we swing open the doors for historic tours of the building with an exhibit entitled An Uncommon Education: The Allen School presented in partnership with Historic Newton. Drop by for the day and enjoy lawn games, prizes, live music, and arts and crafts for the whole family. Check out the tour schedule and details here.
*Hyde Community Center hosts an evening of fun for the whole family with Summer in the Highlands on Friday, June 24, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
