*Don’t miss your chance to see Newton Theatre Company’s Doubt: A Parable on Friday – Saturday, April 4- 5th. Doubt: A Parable is a powerful drama by John Patrick Shanley set in a 1960s Catholic school, where suspicion and morality collide. *On Sunday, April 6th at 3:00 pm Classical With A Twist: Postcards will showcase the rich musical traditions of India, China, and Japan, infused with a classical twist. Led by Cherry Street Music’s Artistic Director and renowned international cellist, Allison Eldredge, this unique performance blends folk influences with cross-cultural fusion. The evening will feature captivating performances by Julia Glenn, Sayuri Miyamoto, and Allison Eldredge, a trio of Classical Indian musicians, and the world premiere of a work by Ruhan Iyer of Lexington – “where the world has not been broken into fragments.” Get your tickets for an authentic evening of cultural fusion and new experiences!
*On Sunday, April 6th at 3:00 pm, The Passionate Viola conducted by Alyssa Wang, Assistant Conductor of the Boston Ballet, leads Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra in a dramatic journey from darkness to light. The concert at Second Church in Newton opens with Joseph Haydn’s mercurial Symphony No. 95 in C Minor, whose frequent shifts between moods serious and cheerful are designed to keep listeners on their toes. *The NCA hosts an Artist Talk with Kathryn Geismar on Thursday, April 10, at 7:00 pm. Curated by NCA Board member Peter Vanderwarker this exhibition will run through April 15th in The Allen Center’s main gallery. Attachment is the third exhibit in the “Women Seeing Women” series. Kathryn Geismar is an artist and psychologist who lives and works in Somerville, Massachusetts. Her interest in identity and internal harmony infuses her professionally in both areas.
