*On Thursday, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. The Newton Free Library presents Women in World Jazz in a virtual concert that will feature composers who use their music to promote social justice and peace. Learn about women who left their impact on history including Joan Baez and Nina Simone, as well as contemporary composers and activists such as Beyoncé, Annie Lenox, and Angélique Kidjo. *Join the Scandinavian Cultural Center for a concert with Miolina on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m. Violin duo Mioi Takeda & Lynn Bechtold take the stage for their Boston debut. Tickets are available for these artists known for their “virtuosic prowess.”
*Music For Food presents a benefit concert, Fantastic Duos at the Allen Center on Saturday, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. Violin-piano duos performed by Solon Gordon and Lily Tsai join together to benefit the Newton Food Pantry and Newton Community Freedge. Register here for this delicious musical event.
