*NewTV’s Cones ‘n Cars is baaa-aaack! Today, Wednesday, August 24th from 5:30-7:30 pm check out the one ‘n only classic car show combined with an ice cream social. Admission is free, and all are welcome to join. Don’t miss sweets ‘n treats from Cabot’s, Bakers’ Best, Pizzi Farm, Volante Farms, J.P. Licks, and the Astound ice cream truck while you check out the sleek ‘n unique classic cars.
*Hyde Community Center hosts fun for the whole family with Summer in the Highlands on Friday, August 26 at 6:00 pm with a live concert from the Legit Band followed by a film screening at dusk of the heartwarming animal tale, Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.” Or attend the last Sunday show on August 28th at 6:00 p.m by the New Music Collaborative. *Find out who invented the microwave oven, the flat-bottomed paper bag, the bread machine, and many more items both useful and fanciful on Tuesday, August 30th at 6:00 pm with Historic Newton. Over 50 artist and artisan vendors will be selected to share their one-of-a-kind crafts in a fair much loved by the Newton community. *Join The New Art Center for the gallery show Recollecting Afterimages: Portrait of Survivors. On display through Wednesday, August 31st this show aims to create a space where we may expand and diversify the communication of the shared story of violence.
