*Join Newton Art Association on Thursday, November 17th at 7:00 pm when Francesca Olsen will teach a class on Instagram Basics. This workshop will cover the basics of Instagram growth—designing varied content; best use of hashtags, reels, and stories; Link in Bio best practices; and the difference between personal, creative, and business accounts. *Suzuki School of Newton presents a Faculty Concert on Saturday, November 19th at 6:30 pm to benefit the Suzuki School of Newton scholarship fund. Faculty members of the school will present an in-person and online program of chamber music by Clara Schumann, Manuel de Falla, Kenji Bunch, Chen Gang, and others. * Commonwealth Chorale celebrates a new era and a new Artistic Director, Dr. Michael Driscoll with Celebrating a New Era: Mozart, Martines, and a Martini on Saturday, November 19, at 8:00 pm. In the vibrant tradition of the Viennese salon, this concert hosted by the Church of the Holy Name will feature works by three musically-linked composers: Martini, Martines, and Mozart. Get your tickets to celebrate this new era.
*The New Philharmonia Orchestra is excited to kick off its 22-23 season with the first performance of Classics I: Latin and Slavic Colors on Sunday, November 20th at 3:00 pm. The program includes Marquez – Danzon 2, Dvorak – Symphony No. 7, Villa Lobos – Guitar Concert, Ginastera – Dances from “Estancia” and a performance by Zaira Meneses, the guitar soloist. Tickets are available for this exciting first show of the season.
*The Newton Cultural Alliance will host the first Newton Thanksgiving Market on Tuesday, November 22nd from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at The Allen Center. Organized by All Over Newton, the event will bring specialty vendors from Newton’s farmers’ markets together for holiday shopping. From locally grown, farm-fresh produce, to pop-in-the-oven hors d’oeuvres, desserts, locally roasted coffee, honey, jams, hostess gifts, and more, you’ll be able to pick up exactly what you need, at one easy location.
