*The Allen Center hosts the Aston Magna Music Festival on Thursday, July 18th with a performance at 7:00 pm and pre-concert artist talk at 6:15 pm. Aston Magna’s 51st summer music festival features four varied programs at The Allen Center. The second program is all about the piano, with Guest Curator and pianist, David Hyun-su Kim featuring THREE grand pianos, side by side, including two replicas of this historic instrument. The program includes Schubert Bb Sonata, D. 960, Chopin: Mosaic Suite in the Style of Clara Schumann, plus CPE Bach and Beethoven. The Allen Center is delighted to welcome Aston Magna on Thursday evenings including July 18, 25, and August 1, all at 7 pm with a pre-concert talk at 6:15.
*On Friday, July 19th at 6:00 pm, The Hyde Community Center hosts its annual Hyde Summer Series featuring family-friendly concerts, movies, theater productions, and cultural celebrations. The community is invited to attend this wide range of events at the Hyde Bandstand. The Jabbering Trout known for its high-energy, two-person drum and guitar music plays at 6 pm followed at sunset by Eddie Murphy’s family-friendly film, Dr.Doolittle 2. *On Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:00 pm The Hyde Community Center hosts a presentation of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor by The Concord Players. Bring your blankets to the bandstand to enjoy a fun and frolicking comedy that lampoons the idea that men are the cleverer of the sexes and that true love reigns.
