Meet Allison Eldredge!
In the 2022-23 season, Allison Eldredge was appointed the first Artist-in-Residence of the Newton Cultural Alliance (NCA) and The Allen Center for the Arts in West Newton, MA.

Allison Eldredge has been invited as a solo cellist by premiere Music Directors of the world including André Previn, Zubin Mehta, Charles Dutoit, and Jaap van Sweden from England to Italy to Russia to Japan and the United States.
The San Francisco Chronicle wrote of Eldredge, “She will no doubt figure significantly on the musical landscape in the years to come."
Allison Eldredge is a recipient of the coveted Avery Fisher Career Grant and Musical America’s “Young Artist of the Year!” She has enjoyed a career performing from London to Moscow to China to Berlin as a soloist with orchestras being called “..a cellist afraid of nothing.” -Chicago Times.
Eldredge Solo engagements include:
- Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the Royal Philharmonic of London, Moscow Virtuosi, Boston Pops
- Symphonies of Montreal, The Netherlands, Chicago, St. Louis, New World, China National
- Philharmonic Orchestras of New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Osaka.

Cherry Street Music Residency
Allison Eldredge and Adrienne Hartzell Knudsen, Managing Director of The Allen Center Co-Founded Cherry Street Music, a concert series of mixed and multi-genres of music in 2022.
“We, each, wanted to create a concert series where drawing the gap between Artists and audiences closer together would be consistently experienced! The intimate progressive-minded Allen School, Great Hall, is an idyllic home for live music performances and close up listening and appreciation! Audiences feel the increased depth in the experience of being so close to the artists and music performances no matter where you sit!”- Eldredge.
A dual mission of Cherry Street Music is supporting a music-loving community for all curious to learn while enjoying making new friends and building community. Listening to live music in Newton produced by the best musicians from Boston and beyond makes The Allen Center a world-class cultural hub.
