NCA is keeping you connected with each other and with your favorite local arts and culture organizations. 

*Join the Newton Free Library for New Kid Trivia on Wednesday, October 21st at 7:00 PM on Zoom. Come join the fun and test your mastery of New Kid by Jerry Craft. This is a lead-up event to our author visit with Jerry Craft on 10/28. Library staff will challenge players with questions from a variety of categories.  This event is for kids, tweens, teens and their families. Click here to register. 

*Join Pro Arte for their next Fall Salon Series on Thursday, October 22nd at 8:00 PM. This Series takes place entirely online and each performance will be followed by a live Q&A session with that night’s musicians. This week the program will feature works by Samuel Barber, George Gershwin, and more. Tickets for each performance are $20 for an individual or $35 for families. Click here to purchase tickets.

*Amherst Early Music is excited to announce CityRecorder Global, their 2-day online workshop for recorders, curated by Valerie Horst and Wendy Powers, with 3 classes per day and a concert on Saturday, October 24th and Music & Instrument Discussion with Eric Haas on Sunday, October 25th. *Sign up now to participate in Newton Free Library’s upcoming workshop Raising Anti-Racist Kids on Tuesday, October 27th at 7:00 PM. This program is part of Overdue: Confronting Race and Racism in Newton, a city-wide read and series of events and conversations on race and racism. Join the community by reading either How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi or So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo and watch the library’s homepage for details on upcoming events. *The Suzuki School of Newton is holding a free parent information session on Wednesday October 28th at 7:00 PM to learn more about the programs offered for the 2020-21 school year. The mission of the Suzuki School of Newton is to instill a love and respect for music that will enrich its students throughout their lives, and to promote early childhood intellectual, cultural, and character development through the teaching philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.
