Commonwealth Chorale Auditions Summer/Fall 2026

Auditions are held at our rehearsal location, First Baptist Church in Newton Centre. Please see our website for more information concerning MBTA Green Line access and parking near the church, our rehearsal schedule, and concert time-of-day.

Summer/fall auditions will be on the following dates:

Tuesday, August 25: 5:30pm-9:30pm
Tuesday, September 1: 5:30pm-9:30pm
Tuesday, September 8: 5:30pm-7:00pm
Tuesday, September 15: 5:30pm-7:00pm

Auditions are approximately 15 minutes and include:

-Vocalizing (singing scales to assess your vocal range)
-A short, piano-accompanied piece of your choice in any style (art song, aria, folk song, hymn, or a section of a classical choral work, etc.). Choose a piece that you know well and that shows your voice at its best. A pianist will be provided for you and you should bring a copy of your music for the pianist. The prepared piece does not need to be memorized.
