*On Saturday, February 24th at 1:00 pm The Scandinavian Cultural Center & Library presents a film entitled Smoke Sauna Sisterhood. In the darkness of a sacred smoke sauna, women share their innermost secrets and intimate experiences, washing off the shame trapped in their bodies and regaining their strength through a sense of communion. After you watch a film about saunas you’ll want your own so Abundance Sauna will be at the Scandinavian Cultural Center celebrating National Sauna Week Friday thru Sunday February 23-25, 2024. *Newton Baroque presents a concert on Saturday, February 24th at 7:30 pm entitled, A Hamburg Salon 1672 with Matthias Weckman. Weckmann was one of the great improvisers of his time, he was a celebrated organist, a master church music composer, and the founder of the original Collegium Musicum. This intimate concert with Newton Baroque takes place at the home of Dick and Lee Hardaway. 

*New Phil Orchestra presents Classics II: Equality & Triumph at Grace Episcopal Church on Saturday & Sunday, February 24 & 25, 7:30 pm & 3:00 pm. The program, a tribute to Black History Month will include Florence Price’s Andante Moderato from String Quartet #1, Lee Hoiby’s setting of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech of Martin Luther King, with Philip Lima, baritone, Aaron Copland’s, Old American Songs also with Philip Lima, and Ludwig van Beethoven, legendary Symphony No. 3 “Eroica.” Premium seats and “pay as you can” seats are available for music lovers of all ages!

*All Newton Music School has rescheduled The WOLF Benefit Concert with Victor Rosenbaum for Sunday, February 25th at 3:00 pm. Internationally renowned pianist, Victor Rosenbaum debuted in 1967 and has been the gold standard in classical music, earning raves for his captivating performances and recordings, including the celebrated 2020 CD “Brahms: The Last Piano Pieces.” Enjoy this special benefit concert at the All Newton Music School.
