*The Newton Cultural Alliance welcomes children and their families to An Invitation to Imagine. This program will take families inside the Allen Homestead on Thursday, December 15th from 4:00 – 5:00 pm for a new educational program that shares its history. Look 150 years back to what it would have been like to live and learn at the Allen home. Guests will explore the history and learn about the family, the students, the school, and the unique curriculum. Please register here for this free program.
*The Newton Cultural Alliance welcomes legendary folk singer and songwriter Catie Curtis to The Allen Center on Saturday, December 16th at 7:30 pm. For over 25 years, Catie toured full-time in the US and Europe. She is back live on stage in her hometown of Newton with a concert you won’t want to miss. Get your tickets now before they sell out for this special event.
*The Scandinavian Cultural Center screens the Swedish film, A Christmas Tale on Saturday, December 17th at 1:30 pm. A tale of a boy from a wealthy family who during his work at the post office steals Christmas gifts from the wealthy to give to the poor people of Stockholm. Get in the Holiday Spirit with the SCC.
*Newton Art Association artists are donating original art to support Facing Cancer Together with Artworks For Good, online now through December 31st. NAA’s fundraiser is an opportunity to purchase artwork while helping cancer survivors in our community. Make a difference in improving the lives of people with cancer, while enjoying original works of art.
*New Art Center presents The Small Works Show-small works that make a big impact now through January 14th. This art exhibition at the New Art Corridor @ Trio will include a range of media including paintings, drawings, mixed media, photography, and sculpture. All small works are made by local artists and for sale, each sale will make a big impact.
