*Join New Art Center on Wednesday, July 8th at 5:30 PM, for Week 3 of their series Highlights and Hidden Gems of Paris’s Museums. This week’s class will focus on Le Centre Pompidou, Paris’s contemporary art museum which features works by Duchamps, Mondrian, Kahlo, and many other great modern and contemporary artists. Learn what makes le Centre Pompidou unique, both inside and out, through an hour exploring its architecture, environs, and some of the pieces and exhibitions on the 6 levels inside. *Newton Free Library presents Nature Journaling Techniques via Zoom on Thursday, July 9th at 3:00 PM. Nature journaling gives you a way to document what you are seeing and bring your attention to the world you are part of. Using drawing and writing, you will explore techniques you can use to create your nature journal. A materials list will be sent out ahead of time, and on the day of the event you will receive an email with a link to join. Click here for more information and to register.
*Suzuki School of Music presents its first concert of the Suzuki Summer Porch Concert Series on Thursday, July 9th at 6:00 PM, streaming living on their Facebook page. This performance will feature the roots-infused contemporary folk duo Crowes Pasture, broadcasting live from Suzuki’s front porch. Click here to access the concert on July 9. *Join Newton Theatre Kids on Monday, July 13th at 9:00 AM for their week-long workshop “Best Foot Forward: Audition Bootcamp,” part of their Summer Intensive Series. Give your child the tools to enter any audition with confidence! Participants will explore different methods of approaching a text while working on two individually selected monologues– one classical and one contemporary– that they can use for future auditions. The program encourages participants to view all auditions as learning experiences and will culminate in a stress-free showcase on the final day. Click here to register. *Newton Free Library presents Jungle Jim’s Balloon Magic Show on Tuesday, July 14th at 4:00 PM via Zoom. Join Jungle Jim on a comical reading adventure! This engaging performer takes you on an incredible live journey with balloons and magic right through your screens.
