*Join Newton Free Library on Wednesday, July 22, at 11:00 AM, for Music with Emily, an online sing-along performance with award winning singer/songwriter Emily Hall. With familiar tunes and some originals, visuals and surprises, Emily will get you up and moving along and having fun! Click here to register and access the Zoom link.
*Join New Art Center on Wednesday, July 22, at 5:30 PM, for the final workshop of their Highlights and Hidden Gems of Paris’s Museums series. This week’s class, “Beyond La Typique,” will focus on lesser known museums and galleries around Paris. *Suzuki School of Newton continues their Summer Porch Concert Series with a virtual concert on Thursday, July 23, at 6:00 PM This performance will be on Facebook Live and will feature the jazz piano duo Emi Nishida and Takumi Kakimoto , broadcasting live from Suzuki’s front porch. *Join Newton Theatre Company for the fifth installment of their Zoom Radio Hour Series. On Thursday, July 23, at 8:00 PM, they will perform Welsh poet Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood. In lyrical and earthy prose, verse and song, Thomas stages a midnight pub crawl through a Welsh fishing village, exposing the dreams and innermost thoughts of its unforgettable inhabitants. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here.
*New Philharmonia Orchestra, along with the City of Newton’s Cultural Development Office, present Americana Potpourri on Sunday, July 26, at 6:30 PM. This is a live, outdoor concert at the Newton Centre Playground, and will follow social distancing guidelines. A small ensemble of string players will perform a “pops” style concert, featuring the sights and sounds of America and its melting pot heritage. Tickets are free but limited, and advanced registration is required. Click here to register.
