Historic Newton: Meet the Makers and Museum Store Sunday

Get a head start on your holiday shopping and support arts and culture in Newton at both of Historic Newton’s museums! Meet Newton artists and authors, purchase work directly from them, and enjoy a 20% discount on merchandise at the museum shops. At the Durant-Kenrick House from 10:30 a.m. to noon, join us for “Art, Spirituality and The Power of Creativity,” an inclusive discussion with Newton artists and authors about the spiritual tones that often guide their creativity, presented with NewCity Church. Free museum admission included. More info at historicnewton.org At the Jackson Homestead and Museum:

  • Artists Cathy Cahill, Wendy Lewis, Krysten Morganti, Barkley Shafer, and Anneloes Van Beek, display and sell their work from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Authors Ken Bresler, Lorenz J. Finison, Marianne Leone, Robin Stein and Hanni Myers, visit from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

At the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds:

  • Join us for “Art, Spirituality and The Power of Creativity,” a free discussion with Newton artists and authors about the spiritual tones that often guide their creativity. How do they combine personal expression with making a larger cultural statement in their work? What themes and values do they hope to communicate? Historic Newton partners with NewCity Church to host and moderate this inclusive conversation with Marian Dioguardi, Grey Held, Sandy Renna, and Clara Silverstein from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. participants in the panel discussion (artist Marian Dioguardi, artist and author Grey Held, wood crafter Sandy Renna, and author Clara Silverstein) display and sell their work. Authors Cheryl Pappas, Helen Waters, and Mia Wenjen also sign and sell their books. Goods from MADE NEW Cafe + Shoppe carrying merchandise from Eurasia Coffee and Tea and CAUSEGEAR, MADE FREE, and Trades of Hope brands are also for sale.
