On Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 pm Newton Baroque presents A Parisian Salon 1715: The Salon By Which All Other Salons Measure Themselves.

The women of the 18^th Century really knew how to host elegant and stimulating salon events.   This concert features a repertoire written for these lovely events, including cantatas by Nicolas Bernier and Michel Pignolet de Montéclair.  Also on the program is the celebrated Sonnerie de Sainte Genevieve du Mont de Paris by Marin Marias, and Andrus Madsen will play a harpsichord suite consisting of improvised character pieces in the tradition of the French Clavicinists and the Chaconne Favorite by François Couperin.
