Newton Free Library presents: Newton’s Progress and Challenges with Climate Action

Join, Halina Brown, Chair of the Newton Citizens Commission on Energy, for a program that will describe Newton’s achievements to date on our 2019 Climate Action Plan. She will highlight the challenges ahead and will explain what citizens can do to contribute to our progress. Additionally, she will draw on the recent research findings about effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emission, and discuss Newton in the context of the goals of the Paris Climate Accords.

Halina Brown is Professor Emerita of Environmental Science and Policy at Clark University. Among other things, she is a co-founder of Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative, and international knowledge network.

The program is part of the Green Newton Series and is cosponsored by Green Newton, Mothers Out Front and 350 Mass Newton Node.
