*Newton Free Library is pleased to present a Facebook Live Tea Time Concert featuring Arjana and Ivan on Thursday, May 28 at 4:00 p.m. Newton-born jazz singer Arjana Andris returns home after multiple international tours for a special tea time live concert with her fiance, Ukranian pianist Ivan Danylets. They bring warmth and heart to beloved hits, spanning the Great American Songbook to contemporary pop in their acoustic piano/vocal/violin duo “Arjana and Ivan.” On May 28 at 4:00 p.m., tune in here. FREE. *All Newton Music School’s annual recital festival, Music in May, is this Saturday, May 30, and it has moved online! This year, ANMS offerings will be virtual and accessible for everyone to enjoy the recitals of over 400 students, rock bands, Chestnut Orchestra, and Emerging Artist award recipients from the comfort of your home. On Saturday, visit allnewton.org, where the typical ANMS website will be transformed into virtual Music in May. There will be a menu where you can explore the youth recital directory (organized by the instructor’s name), adult recital, musical theater showcases, and more. Also enjoy raffles and prizes during this fun, virtual event. *The Newton Piano Summit, supported by the Waban Improvement Society, is pleased to present Alexei Tsiganov in Concert on Saturday, May 30, at 4:00 p.m. via Facebook Live. At 17, Alexei Tsiganov was working at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and by 1991 he had arrived in the USA to begin a career that now spans genres and continents. He is a first call among top names in jazz, including Claudio Roditi, Antonio Sanchez, Chico Freeman, Esperanza Spalding, Bob Moses, and Greg Osby. The Newton Piano Summit online concert series is FREE and, if you can, please make a tax-deductible donation through the Waban Improvement Society here–100% of revenue will be paid to the performers. *New Art Center is pleased to present an online Photoshop class from Tuesday, June 2, through Tuesday, June 30, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Explore the basic tools and manipulation methods of Adobe Photoshop in this Zoom class for adult learners. Learn to finely edit digital images, using both your own photos as well as found images, and learn to swap backgrounds, add dynamic text, manipulate faces, enhance digital images, and create a mini planet using your landscape photos. *Newton Theatre Company presents its next virtual Radio Hour: Rebecca, based on the novel by Daphne du Maurier, on Thursday, June 4, at 8:00 p.m. via Zoom. When a young woman falls in love with a wealthy widower and moves into his seaside estate, she thinks her life may be a dream. As dangerous secrets about the previous lady of the house begin to emerge, our heroine worries she may instead be trapped in a nightmare.
