In a program of famous arias and Italian songs, Profeta performs with pianist Maxim Lubarsky, Tino D’Agostino, bass, and Sergio Bellotti, drums. *Newton Baroque presents Breathtaking Biber: Astonishing works for two violins by Heinrich Biber on Friday, September 30th at 7:30 pm. These works from the Harmonia artificioso-ariosa press the violin to its limits, in music that is both astounding and expressive. At 2nd Church in Newton, this program will feature two of the brightest Baroque violin stars, Susanna Ogata, and Christina Day Martinson joined by Laura Jeppesen on viola da gamba and Andrus Madsen on the harpsichord. *NewRep Theatre Company hosts a full weekend of programming starting on Friday, September 30th with Reconsidering, an evening of sharing which includes six dancing texts from RootsUprising’s repertoire. Then Saturday Stories presents, The GroovaLottos performing “Straight Outta Mama’s Hamper”, a recreation of the best of a summer Saturday in the life of a 1970’s Black American family. *Join Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston for Serenades and Illuminations on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 8:00 pm. Conductor David Angus and tenor Omar Najmi deliver an enchanting program of two retrospective serenades and one visionary song cycle. The Romantic serenades by Richard Strauss and Johannes Brahms stem from a Classical genre of music traditionally performed outdoors in the evening. Get your tickets now for this illuminating event.

*The New Art Center is Calling All Artists and Creators! The New Art Shop is looking for vendors to launch its 2nd annual holiday shop experience at Trio in Newtonville. The New Art Center will partner with UpNext to again transform a 2,000-square-foot space into a fantastic platform for artists and emerging brands to sell their work.
